Chapter 800: Minerva

Chapter 800: Minerva

“Are you sure you can take it?” Raze asked curiously. She wasn’t doubting Asad’s power since he was the Rank 2 Survivor for the longest time. He even did that without the support of a huge clan until he joined Shane’s group.

“I can take it… Don’t worry about me.” Asad said with confidence.

He believed that his willpower was enough to resist the creeping madness. After all, he wasn’t just any Necromancer. His Talent was Legendary, and he had the most number of Survivor Skills that could keep his mind sane even with all the undead creatures around him.

Whatever the book does, he believed that he would be strong enough to deal with it.

That left only two items untouched. They were the deck of cards or Gambler’s Fate, and the Truthseer’s Lenses.

Shane looked at the rest and noticed that they didn’t have any desire to get this item at all.

“Anyone?”

Silence lingered for a moment. Then a few pings blinked across the screen.

“Not my style.” Diana said after some thought.

“I don’t have enough points to get them.” Raze said as she had already spent a lot of materials on herself and her dragon.

“I’d rather not deal with cursed lenses. Too risky…” Lysandra said as she read the description once again.

[ Truthseer’s Lenses: Allows the wearer to see through all illusions, disguises, and concealed information. Warning: Long-term use risks permanent blindness. ]

It was certainly a nice item that could be useful in many situations, but the fact that it might cause blindness terrified her.

“I already have what I need.” Asad said as he wasn’t worried about any illusions or disguises either. He already has the Death’s Eyes that could help him with that matter.

Hearing this, Shane considered for a moment.

Those two items were strange, yes… but sometimes, strangeness hid the greatest rewards. His instinct told him they weren’t to be underestimated.

The shopkeeper, still smiling at his customers, finally spoke, seeing that they couldn’t decide.

“Not all treasures reveal their value at first glance, Survivor. Some play their hand only when the stakes are highest.”

At this point, Shane pulled up the Clan Chat once again and carefully noted down the last two items left in the Secret Shop…

[ Shane: Two items left in the Secret Shop. Truthseer’s Lenses for 38,000 Points, and Gambler’s Fate for 42,000 Points… ]

It was then followed by explanations about what these items could do…

As expected, it immediately garnered attention since most of the members were only waiting for the event to end at this point.

Together, they totaled 80,000 Points. If no one claimed them, it would feel like a waste.

Just as Shane was about to make a decision himself, a soft ping notified him. It was a private message.

[ Minerva: I’m on my way to the Secret Shop. Don’t buy those last two items yet. ]

Shane raised an eyebrow. Minerva?

She had been quiet during most of the event, usually working in the background rather than pushing for a high-profile bid. But if she was heading here, it meant she had come prepared.

She was one of the most impressive women in his clan, and she was actually invited by Lysandra to join him. To be exact, she was one of Lysandra’s clients when she was still selling advanced prosthetics like what she did on Tiera.

Just like that, a few minutes later, Minerva arrived… She was no longer in disguise like most of them. The others immediately turned their eyes on her.

“Well, well,” Raze smirked. “Looks like someone got rich.”

“Didn’t expect you to still have points left…” Lysandra admitted as she looked at her curiously. “Where did you manage to scrape that much from?”

Minerva only smiled faintly, then held up her empty hands… “It’s the Frost Zombie drops.”

Shane paused as he recalled that there weren’t Frost Zombies near his four shelters.

“You’re telling me you farmed those? Where?”

“It’s before I joined the clan… I collected not just a few…” Minerva corrected. “Hundreds of those blue ice gems.”

The group fell silent as they couldn’t help but feel impressed.

Everyone knew Frost Zombies were a nightmare to hunt. They were slow-moving, yes, but extremely durable.

Their chilling aura froze weapons, slowed stamina recovery, and left Survivors vulnerable to other threats. Few people bothered with them unless forced.

But Minerva had made it her specialty.

She laid out her spoils in detail.

I got Frozen Hearts. They’re the core drop of every Frost Zombie, used in crafting cold-resistant armor and cooling engines. Highly sought after in bulk.

There are also shards of eternal Ice. They’re rare fragments lodged in Elite Frost Zombies, capable of powering cold-based weapons…

She also had a few Cryo Essence Vials, looted from the liquefied remains. Apparently, they’re valuable alchemy material used in energy potions and cryo grenades.

Finally, her collection of Frostbitten Claws and Fangs had truly helped her gain a lot of points. It turns out that since it was infused with Cold Spirit, it was used to forge blades that could slow enemies on impact.

In total, Minerva had sold over three hundred Frozen Hearts, dozens of Cryo Essence Vials, and enough claws and shards to fill three entire crates.

“Wow… I think we need those shards of eternal ice… Isn’t it getting hot?” Raze asked.

“Ohh… Don’t worry, I have enough of those…” Minerva said with a smile.

She actually didn’t have to spend a long time to get a satisfactory result on her trade…

The Exchange Hall had gone crazy as soon as they saw her Frost Zombie loots…

She hadn’t just sold them for points… She had traded them smartly.

“I swapped half of the loot for supplies… portable barriers, resistance charms, and even a shipment of food reserves. The other half I liquidated into Points.”

Shane gently nodded at this. He was impressed by her moves… “That explains it.”

“How many Points exactly?” Diana pressed.

“Ninety-four thousand…” Minerva replied casually as though it wasn’t a big deal.
