Chapter 795: The Advanced Skills
Even if the Gold Mines now belong to Shane’s Clan, they were still the ones managing it, and most of the profit still goes to their shelter. Because of that, Reylin was thrilled.
Tundra also agreed… “All the Survivor Skills here are incredible. They’re the foundation. Things we’d overlook because we’re too focused on combat… but for building a real community, these are what we need. I should inform Raze or Shane about this.”
He had no interest in building shelters or community. He was more interested in Reylin, so he decided to just keep her company.
Still, the two of them didn’t immediately buy what they wanted.
They planned to see what this store could still offer.
After a few moments, their eyes wandered deeper into the shop, toward the scrolls housed in glass cases. These things are more expensive, and the plaques showed that they cost 10,000 to 20,000 points.
“Intermediate class…” Reylin muttered as she felt a bit more excited. She wasn’t sure what they’d see now, but they would surely be useful for someone within the Clan.
At this time, Tundra found an interesting one.
[ Beast Tamer’s Whisper: Allows communication and low-level control over tamed beasts or animals. Increases the success rate of taming attempts. ]
“Most of the animals, except for some birds and horses, have become infected… This is not really useful…”
“Who knows, it might work on Wolf Zombies or something.” Reylin replied, though she wasn’t serious about it.
“Ohhh… If that could work, then that would change our shelter’s entire defense strategy…” Tundra laughed as he knew that it was impossible to control Zombies unless you had some sort of skill like those Necromancers.
Nonetheless, once the virus had been eliminated, this specific skill might become useful.
For now, another drew Tundra’s attention as he looked for other skills.
[ Battle Instinct: Heightens perception during combat, allowing users to predict enemy attacks half a second before they strike. ]
Tundra’s Terrorist Ability could help him create multiple types of bombs. Hitting most of the Zombies with those Bombs was easy.
However, if it were those speed-type Zombies, that may be difficult for him.
With the battle instinct, predicting the moves of some Zombies would be a lot easier for him to plant or detonate bombs.
Tundra stared at it for a long while.
“…This one is worth twenty thousand. Expensive, but terrifyingly practical. Even half a second can save your life.”
For now, Tundra noted it in his mind as he checked the other scrolls.
[ Minor Elemental Affinity: Grants a basic attunement to fire, ice, or earth, enabling strong survival in any harsh environment. ]
[ Enhanced Endurance: Greatly increases stamina recovery and pain tolerance. ]
[ Rapid Construction: Doubles building speed and efficiency, especially in fortifying shelters. ]
[ Weapon Mastery: Unlocks a deeper understanding of one weapon class (swords, spears, bows, etc.), boosting power and precision. ]
“These are worth every point,” Reylin muttered as she read through the skill list.
“Skills like these… they can’t be found in the Survivor Store. Not for points, not for trade. Only here.”
Tundra nodded… “Now we can’t leave this place empty-handed.”
The two then checked their remaining auction points through their BidLink Communicator.
Tundra exhaled as he saw the status screen.
[ Points Remaining: 129,000 ]
‘Not enough to buy everything I want. But I can get some decent ones.’ He mused.
Beside him, Reylin was also quietly calculating what Skills she should purchase with her current balance.
[ Points Remaining: 122,000 ]
“We’ll have to be smart. If we waste points on the wrong thing, we’ll regret it forever.”
The two nodded at one another. After all, they had no idea whether there would be another Auction Event like this. They had to be smart about their expenses.
Because of that, they had to make sure they’d be getting not just the one suited for their budget but also the best one as well.
Then, they finally turned their attention toward the farthest wall of the basement. This section was sealed not just by a glass case but also by some sort of talisman protecting them from being robbed.
Unlike the basic and intermediate scrolls, these scrolls looked expensive since even the parchment used seemed new, and there weren’t any signs of age at all.
At the top, a carved plaque identifying them could be seen.
[ Advanced Skill Scrolls – Limited Collection]
There were only twenty slots in this section… but to their surprise, four were already empty.
The shopkeeper caught their worried expressions. He adjusted the sleeves of his gray robe before saying calmly.
“Four have already been purchased by other survivors. This place doesn’t stay hidden forever. Opportunities like these rarely last… if you want them, you’d best decide quickly.”
Reylin and Tundra locked eyes and knew what they had to do.
They opened their Clan Chat windows as they both sent urgent messages.
[ Reylin: The Secret Shop we found had Advanced Survivor Skills. It was partially bought out by other Survivors… Hurry here now before it’s gone.]
[ Tundra: At least one other Clan has been here before. Those who want Skills must come here fast. ]
Just like that, Lysandra, Layla, and many other Survivors from the Eclipse Revenant Clan who still had some spare Points they could use, decided to check this place out.
Only after sending those warnings did the two allow themselves to scan the cases carefully.
And what they saw really surprised them.
The two of them quickly checked the prices, and they were ranging from 40,000 to 60,000 Points! They were actually so expensive!
However, as soon as they saw one of them, they realized why they were so expensive. These Skills deserve their price tag!
[ Chainbreaker: Completely nullifies all binding effects such as shackles, nets, or immobilizing skills… ]
“A skill that completely destroys any immobilizing skills… Max would want this skill.” Tundra muttered.
Max, the Juggernaut, would surely be happy if he obtained this skill.
Reylin was still unfamiliar with most of the members of the Eclipse Revenant, but she recognized Max, the Juggernaut, since he had left a deep impression on her…
“Ohh… I can see that.” Reylin nodded. He knew that person would undoubtedly become unstoppable with this Survivor Skill.
