Chapter 788: Treatment
Finally, the Vampire Invasion was over…
But victory came at a cost. The streets of Eclipse Domain were littered with rubble and bodies.
The Aegis Force Barrier had held, but cracks still glowed faintly along its edges even though it was just repaired. It was proof of how close it had been to another collapse.
In just a few moments, several survivors from the evacuation shelter rushed to help the injured while the medics scrambled through the chaos.
Outside the granary, Aya was carried out by two exhausted defenders. Her strength was drained to the last drop, but her eyes were still open as she scanned the survivors.
“How many… casualties?” she asked weakly.
“Too many,” one of the medics muttered grimly as he startedly laying a dying man onto a stretcher.
The man had been bitten by a Vampire and had his blood drained.
Thankfully, they were treated by a Super Soldier Serum, allowing them to fight back the mysterious power that was turning them into a Lesser Vampire.
Still, they had to get proper medications soon.

Many of the patients couldn’t even be transferred to the infirmary due to the nature of their injuries.
At this time, Anna’s voice could be heard like a commander on the battlefield.
“Bring them in rows! Prioritize those with heavy bleeding first, then the bitten! Don’t let anyone collapse unattended!”
She was commanding more than 13 medical practitioners, but it was not enough.
Thankfully, the Super Soldiers and other abled bodies were there to assist her team.
Since the nearest place was the barracks, it had been turned into a temporary medical bay… Long tables had been overturned into makeshift beds, and the floor was lined with blankets for the wounded. Some survivors limped in, carried friends, or dragged comrades by their arms, leaving trails of blood that medics quickly tried to mop away with rags.
Anna moved between patients as she needed to treat those in critical condition first.
In her hands was a black leather satchel, already open and filled with vials, syringes, and carefully labeled jars.
At the same time, she also gave orders while working since her current Perception allowed her to monitor multiple patients at once.
“Two units of Bloodflow Tonic here—his veins are collapsing. And get me a fresh bandage soaked in Aegis-saline! The infection is spreading too fast.”
The injured man groaned as the red tonic was fed into him. This tonic was bitter, but within minutes, his paling face regained a shade of color.
The tonic acted like a stimulant, replenishing lost vitality and forcing the heart to pump harder, keeping the blood from stagnating.
This was perfect for the patients attacked by those bloodsucking creatures.
On the next bed, Anna saw a woman lying and shivering violently. Her wound had some gray lines crawling from a bite mark.
It was vampiric corruption that was eating her from the inside.
Anna pressed her palm against the wound, then called out, “Stabilizer! Hurry!”
A younger medic rushed with a case of small, metal syringes.
Each contained a faintly glowing liquid. They were the Z-Virus Stabilizer, the Genesis Cure version. It was the only thing that could safely hold back the transformation.
Indeed, she knew that the stabilizer wasn’t just effective for Zombie Virus. It was capable of stabilizing any form of mutation in the human body.
Anna injected it straight into the woman’s neck.
The effect was immediate.
The woman gasped for a few moments before settling with a steady breath.
The darkening veins also stopped spreading, but her body convulsed a little as the mutations fought back under her skin. Anna gritted her teeth but said firmly…
“She’ll live. Mark her for secondary treatment. We’ll deal with the side effects later.” She said to another staff.
Thud!
This time, the Chief Medical Officer of the Springriver Manor finally entered.
It was Loreen who had arrived, still in her traveling cloak. There was sweat on her brow from the rush through the portal. She didn’t waste a single breath.
“I’m here to help… Where are the infected? Show me the critical ones!”
“By the west wall!” Anna replied, not even glancing up.
It was a good thing that another high-level alchemist had arrived.
Just like that, Loreen hurried over as she took out her own kit of tools.
Compared to Anna’s perceptive ability, who could command the whole medical bay due to her high perception, Loreen worked calmly…
She’d even speak softly, soothing the patients even as she dug into their wounds.
She prepared bandages with some bitter salve to stop the fever of some patients. There were also crushed silverpetal herb to mix into an antiseptic wash, and applied some medicinal paste created by the elves in the manor…
She was a true Alchemist… All those critical patients were swiftly cured by the potions, salves, and medicines she brought.
A young boy, barely fifteen, cried as Loreen dressed a vampire bite on his shoulder. His blood was darkened, and the veins around the wound were throbbing.
“Easy now… breathe with me. In and out. You’ve got the strength, don’t let the poison win.”
She drew out a flask of Mana Water…
As soon as the boy drank it, the corruption slowed, and his trembling eased.
Now, she only needed to clean and bandage the wounds.
All around, the medics worked tirelessly…
After three hours or so, the situation stabilized, and Anna could finally relax for a bit.
“Don’t waste the Genesis Cure on mild cases… Save it for those critically injured.” She reminded one of the medics.
After all, the Genesis Cure was indeed one of the best medicines they had, but she was the only one capable of making them right now. If another attack like this occurred, they might get into trouble due to the lack of medicine.
Anna then observed the Eclipse Domain… Although they were ultimately the victor against the Vampire Lord, they still suffered casualties.
“I wonder how he’ll react to this…” She muttered.
