Chapter 1381: Chapter 1366: There’s Something Strange About This Pool
Song Xiaodong chewed twice, but his face showed no expression at all, and then he stopped chewing.
“Hey, how is it?” Qingluan asked anxiously.
“Not bad, the timing is just right. Looks like I’m doing a good job as your master.” Song Xiaodong said proudly and then began to chew heartily, quickly tearing off another piece of meat and stuffing it into his mouth.
Qingluan gave Song Xiaodong a big eye roll and said haughtily, “Stop boasting, okay? I roasted this, my learning ability is strong, right?”
Song Xiaodong rolled his eyes and said, “Do you really believe that? Without my guidance, could you have roasted the meat this well? Without me showing you the tricks, could you have this level of skill?”
Qingluan also tore off a piece of meat and stuffed it into her mouth, saying, “Even without your teaching, I could still roast it well. If you hadn’t been messing around here, I would have roasted it even better.”
Song Xiaodong stood up suddenly and said, “Hey, don’t you have a conscience?”
Qingluan’s face instead showed a smug smile, “I’m the Witch of the Dark Night Sect, why should I talk about conscience with you?”
“Damn, you people from the Dark Night Sect really are no good.”
“Yeah, so just accept it.” Qingluan said, even happier.
As the two of them bickered while eating, they unknowingly finished all the game.
Song Xiaodong got up to leave, and Qingluan immediately said, “Hey, where are you going? Trying to run away?”
“Run away for what? I haven’t had a good bath for the past two days. There’s a pool downstream; I’m going to take a bath.”
“Stop right there!” Qingluan lightly shouted, already blocking Song Xiaodong’s way.
“What now? Are you going to kill me?” Song Xiaodong said grumpily.
Qingluan said, “Killing you is like killing a chicken; what’s the rush? I’m going to bathe first, or you’ll make the water all smelly, and how would I bathe then?”
“Damn, you’re fighting for this too.” Song Xiaodong shook his head and said, “Fine, let’s bathe together then.”
“Go to hell!” Qingluan slapped Song Xiaodong on the chest, sending him flying, and huffed, “Do not come over, or I’ll dig out your eyes.”
When Qingluan made the move, Song Xiaodong knew she didn’t use her full strength, so he didn’t bother defending and pretended to be hurt, shouting, “You’re so shameless, always sneaking attacks like this. Do you have any grace?”
“I’m a woman; why should I talk about grace?” Qingluan said smugly, tilting her chin at Song Xiaodong, then turned and walked elegantly downstream, the hem of her white dress fluttering in the wind, giving her an ethereal beauty.
Qingluan walked not far downstream and discovered a pool. It wasn’t large, but the water seemed deep. Under the moonlight, it had a dark, mysterious color.
Yet Qingluan, confident in her skills, wasn’t concerned about the pool. She undressed and stepped into the water.
The edge of the pool wasn’t too deep, standing in it, it just reached her waist. When she bent down, her whole body could be submerged.
However, the water was freezing, so much so that even a skilled person like Qingluan couldn’t help but gasp at the cold. She circulated her True Qi to feel better.
“Why is the water so cold?” Qingluan felt a bit strange, but didn’t dwell on it, muttering to herself and continued to enjoy the unique comfort the cold water brought.
Suddenly, the sound of footsteps drew near, startling Qingluan. She clearly heard someone approaching and immediately shouted, “Who’s there?”
“It’s me.” With the voice, Song Xiaodong already appeared at the edge of the pool.
Song Xiaodong appeared too quickly. Even if Qingluan wanted to rise and get ashore, it was too late. She could only submerge herself in the water, showing only her head, and angrily said, “Leave immediately, or I’ll dig out your eyes.”
Song Xiaodong chuckled lightly, “You’re going to kill me anyway, gouging my eyes first isn’t a big deal. To bathe with a beauty like you before I die, I’d die under the peony and become a ghost with no regrets.”
As he spoke, Song Xiaodong began to undress.
“Bastard, you can’t come in!” Qingluan shouted angrily, but at this point, she couldn’t do much about Song Xiaodong. She couldn’t just rush over to chase him away.
Besides, seeing Song Xiaodong undress more and more, Qingluan was too embarrassed to look and turned her head quickly, feeling even more flustered.
“Splash!” As the sound of water echoed, water splashed onto Qingluan’s face, indicating that Song Xiaodong had entered the water close to her.
“Bastard!” Qingluan cursed angrily, then kicked her feet and swam towards the center of the pool. She didn’t want to be so close to Song Xiaodong; she wasn’t wearing anything, after all.
Song Xiaodong didn’t pursue her. Once in the water, he too was startled by the sudden chill, stood upright, shivering, and said, “Why is this water so cold? It’s freezing me.”
Hearing Song Xiaodong’s words, Qingluan’s anger and shyness suddenly dissipated a lot, replaced by a sense of satisfaction, “Ha, serves you right, who told you not to test the water temperature first?”
Song Xiaodong frowned and said, “Come back over here, don’t go to the middle.”
