532: Chapter 531: The Terrifying Elder 532: Chapter 531: The Terrifying Elder Here they come, damn, they’re actually catching up!
Both of their eyes bulged, as it was the first time they’d seen anyone cycle to this extent.
The two exchanged a glance, twisted the motorcycle’s handle, and dived into a small path nearby.
Ning Fan was somewhat surprised.
This area was already on the outskirts, with hardly any vehicles on the main road, so they had no concerns and could push the speed of the motorbike to the limit.
In such a case, for Ning Fan to catch up with the two was as difficult as reaching the heavens.
But in this situation, the duo unexpectedly steered their motorcycle onto the nearby small path.
The country lane was riddled with potholes, naturally slowing them down.
As a result, the likelihood of Ning Fan catching up was much greater.
Ning Fan found it odd, what exactly were these two thinking, choosing the small path at such a critical moment?
Although he couldn’t understand it, in Ning Fan’s view, this increased his chances of catching them significantly.
Without a second word, he unhesitatingly followed them onto the small path.
The unfolding of events was just as Ning Fan had anticipated; before long, his bicycle swiftly caught up with the two on the motorcycle.
However, the pair seemed to be in no hurry, and when they brought the motorcycle into an open area, they actually stopped, parked the bike to one side, got off, and stood there, patiently waiting.
“What, ready for a head-on confrontation?” Ning Fan smiled slightly, thinking to himself.
The bicycle quickly came to a stop, and Ning Fan casually tossed it aside, looking toward the two men.
“Brother, you’ve been chasing us for a while, tired yet?” one of them asked with a chuckle.
Both men stood with their arms crossed over their chests, smiling at Ning Fan with a sly grin on their faces.
Just as Ning Fan was about to say something, he suddenly caught sight of something behind the two men, and as he shifted his gaze, he saw a burly old man walk out from behind the trunk of the big tree.
The old man was dressed in sportswear; though he looked old, he was robust, and his movements exuded a strong presence, clearly the mark of someone trained.
The two men showed no surprise at the old man’s appearance; instead, their expressions grew even more smug and arrogant.
A realization struck Ning Fan, and he asked, “Did you deliberately lead me here?”
Seeing that you’ve got some brains,” the two men looked at each other and laughed heartily, saying, “Just as the information said, you’re a meddler, which suits us perfectly.
Otherwise, we wouldn’t have known how to lure you in.”
Ning Fan chuckled inwardly and said indifferently, “Simple, had you just made it clear you wanted trouble with me, I would have come to take care of you.”
“Take care of us?
Hmph, let’s see who takes care of whom today!” The two men’s expressions darkened, they stepped back, making way.
The old man advanced slowly, looking down on Ning Fan with contempt.
“Who are you?” Ning Fan asked curiously, as he had pondered for a long time and indeed did not recognize this old man.
The old man chuckled softly, seemingly regretful as he spoke, “To think I’ve gone to such lengths, I was expecting more, but it turns out to be just a greenhorn.
It somewhat elevates you that I have to deal with you personally.
You should feel honored.”
“You didn’t know me before?” Ning Fan seemed to think of something as he spoke.
The old man took a deep breath and walked straight towards Ning Fan, all the while speaking, “There’s no need to test me with your words.
Indeed, I don’t know you.
The reason I came for you is that someone wants you dead.
Telling you this doesn’t matter, because, after all, a dead man wouldn’t be breaking any rules by knowing.”
A realization dawned on Ning Fan; someone was indeed plotting against him in secret.
But who could it be?
“If that’s the case, why not just tell me who wants me dead?” Ning Fan said with a smile.
“You really want to know?” The old man raised an eyebrow, “Fine.
I’ll tell you one second before you take your last breath.”
With those words, the old man took a stance, his fists clenched, and he charged at Ning Fan with a wind that foretold of a storm.
The old man moved with solid steps, and the whooshing sound of his swinging fists suggested he was a master of boxing.
“That’s a pity then, because I’m not reaching the point of taking my last breath today.
I just don’t know whether you would be willing to tell me when you’re the one about to die?” Ning Fan replied casually, and seeing the old man’s fist already nearing his face, he then leisurely raised a hand.
With a thump, their fists collided directly.
“Overestimating your abilities!” A sinister smile flashed in the corner of the old man’s eye as he instantly increased the force in his fist.
In the old man’s view, with his strength, this blow was enough to break Ning Fan’s wrist.
The old man found it laughable that Ning Fan would dare to meet his attack head-on.
But then, he could laugh no more.
Despite his reactive hand lift, which should have placed him in a weaker position, Ning Fan stood his ground, utterly unmoved as though he were one with the earth itself.
As for something like a wrist break, there was no sign of it at all.
Instead, at the moment their fists collided, there was a sudden explosion of crackling sounds from where they met.
Following that, a terrifying force of recoil surged back along the old man’s fist like an overwhelming tide.
The old man’s face paled, not daring to underestimate the rebound force.
Clenching his teeth, his body was flung backward into the air.
Using the backward momentum to try and dissipate the returning force.
Unfortunately, the old man had underestimated the power.
His body hit the ground and stumbled back several paces, before finally crashing against a tree behind him where he came to a staggering stop.
The old man’s face was ashen as he looked at Ning Fan in shock.
From a simple and brief exchange, the old man instantly realized that the strength of this person in front of him was terrifying!
“You…
you…” the old man stammered.
Ning Fan dusted off his hands, walked over with a smile, and spoke up, “Now, can you tell me who sent you to kill me?”
The old man scowled and snorted coldly, “Your power is indeed beyond my expectations, but to think you can defeat me with that?
Wishful thinking!”
“Wishful thinking?
Heh…
well then, let me see if I’ve got the credentials for such wishful thinking.”
No sooner had he finished speaking than Ning Fan stomped on the ground, propelling his body forward like a cannonball.
The speed he displayed in that instant was so fast that the old man had absolutely no time to react.
