Chapter 973: Chapter 962: You Talk Too Much!
“Finally arrived, huh…”
Ning Fan stepped off the ferry alone. Strangely, he was the only passenger aboard, as if the ferry had been arranged just for him.
Setting foot on this willow-covered island, Ning Fan caught a whiff of something eerie in the air.
A long path stretched out before him. On both sides, various plants lined the way, but the most prominent were cherry blossom trees yet to bloom. At the far end stood a lengthy staircase.
What stood out the most were the iconic torii gates. Clearly, this island was no ordinary place.
“Hmph, playing tricks like spirits and ghosts!”
Ning Fan sneered coldly. Just then, his phone buzzed with the latest intel sent by Ouyang Feifei.
Upon checking his phone, Ning Fan learned that this island was home to a famous Yin Yang family clan. No wonder its atmosphere felt so peculiar.
But Ning Fan couldn’t care less about who lived there. He’d come for one purpose—to take Situ Qingfeng’s wretched life!
With a slight glance at his surroundings, Ning Fan slung his sword bag over his shoulder and walked ahead.
Passing through torii gate after torii gate, Ning Fan reached the end of the path and looked toward the stairs, beginning to ascend them unhurriedly.
It wasn’t until he reached the top of the stairs that he noticed silhouettes appearing before him.
“Who are you?!”
Two men outfitted in Onmyoji attire approached. Though short and unimpressive physically, they seemed to be born with a superiority complex, looking down their noses at Ning Fan and speaking with blatant disdain.
Upon seeing Ning Fan, their first instinct was to rudely interrogate him.
“I’m here to find somebody.”
Unperturbed, Ning Fan replied in Chinese, not caring whether they understood his words or not.
“What’s he saying?”
“Sounds like the language of a Huaxia monkey!”
The men whispered conspiratorially to each other, making no attempt to lower their voices—likely assuming Ning Fan couldn’t understand them—as they sneered without reservation.
But to their surprise, Ning Fan could understand Dongying language perfectly. He caught every word they exchanged!
“Heh, I bet you understand me, right? I’ll say it one final time: I’ve come to find someone. Bring them to me, and I might spare your lives.”
With a mocking smile, Ning Fan spoke coldly.
Just as he suspected, his words hit home. Their faces contorted in fury, as if deeply insulted.
Noting their reaction, Ning Fan’s smirk widened mockingly.
“Forget it. I won’t waste my breath on you two clowns!”
Shaking his head, Ning Fan decided not to waste further time with them. Ignoring the pair, he strode forward, spotting a large mansion within his line of sight.
Judging by appearances, Ning Fan felt confident his target could be found there.
But as he took his first step forward, the two Onmyoji immediately blocked his path. Their unfriendly expressions and murderous gleam in their eyes revealed their intent quite plainly.
“Oh? You think the likes of you can actually challenge me?”
Ning Fan chuckled at them before swinging his hand and casually shoving them aside.
“You damn Huaxia monkey! Stop right there! That’s not a place for someone like you!”
Infuriated, the pushed-away Onmyoji yelled at Ning Fan’s retreating figure.
But Ning Fan had long since lost patience. He showed no mercy now. In an instant, two Silver Needles shot out and embedded themselves in the men’s legs, rendering them immobilized.
“What’s happening? Why can’t my body move?!”
“Damn it, stop right there!”
The two collapsed to the ground, cold sweat dripping from their foreheads. One of them, still defiant, continued shouting provocatively at Ning Fan.
Ning Fan ignored them entirely, striding confidently toward the mansion’s entrance. Kicking the door open with a loud bang, he declared:
“Situ Qingfeng, come out this instant! The granddad’s here to send you on your way! You’ve been itching to avenge your brother, haven’t you? Well, I’m here to reunite you!”
With a sinister grin, Ning Fan roared as his voice reverberated throughout the mansion like a lion’s thunderous bellow.
In the next moment, countless Onmyoji clad figures surged out from every direction.
“Where’s this Huaxia monkey come from, daring to cause mayhem in our Tian Tuyuan household?!”
“Get out of here!”
“This isn’t a place for inferior bloodlines like yours! Leave now!”
The crowd of Dongying locals shouted and cursed at Ning Fan. But little did they know, provoking him meant courting disaster!
Ning Fan raised an eyebrow, his expression darkening: “You mangy dogs, shut up!”
Want to compete in volume?
Ning Fan’s single shout completely drowned out their collective uproar. His voice was deafening, leaving countless people clutching their ears in discomfort.
“Situ Qingfeng, get out here! Don’t think hiding behind these useless fools makes you untouchable!”
Ning Fan taunted boldly, inciting even greater fury among the Dongying people.
Burning with rage, they glared daggers at Ning Fan as one of them shouted, “Tian Tuyuan Jiayou! Come here and drive this bastard out!”
“You despicable Huaxia worm, not even groveling for mercy later will save you. I’ll make sure you wish you were dead for desecrating our sacred land—prepare for hell!”
A man stepped forward, clearly Tian Tuyuan Jiayou. His features were grotesque, and no amount of luxurious attire could mask his repulsiveness.
Ning Fan, unfazed, marched forward as though the man didn’t exist, completely ignoring him.
“You insolent fool! You dare disregard me? I’ll make you pay for this!”
Fuming, Jiayou brandished a carefully inscribed talisman paper while chanting frantically, his gaze locked on Ning Fan as the latter calmly walked past.
Swish!
With a flick of his blade, Ning Fan executed a dazzling sword flourish and spared Jiayou a sharp glance. “Has anyone ever told you—you’re loud?”
“So… so fast…”
Jiayou’s eyes widened in shock, the world spinning as his view became filled with his decapitated body, blood gushing from his neck like a fountain.
Thud! His lifeless body collapsed, leaving the courtyard in stunned silence. The other Onmyoji stared in disbelief at the scene.
Ning Fan’s sword strike had been so swift, no one had discerned how Jiayou’s head had been severed.
“Baka! Kill him!”
Someone screamed furiously, and the remaining Onmyoji erupted in a frenzy, surging toward Ning Fan en masse.
