Chapter 970: 959: Ning Fan Strikes!

Chapter 970: Chapter 959: Ning Fan Strikes!

The vast expanse of Situ Manor stood perched halfway up the mountain. On top of the tall walls, approximately five or six figures were stationed, staring coldly at Situ Manor.

“Go, show them what happens when you anger Asura!”

Ning Fan wore a jet-black trench coat, his face icy and emotionless, his eyes carrying a chilling murderous intent.

Beside him stood the members of the Shadow Team: Tulip, Di Baitian, and the duo known as Wandering Ghosts. Meanwhile, Ouyang Feifei remained at the Shadow Base, coordinating and providing them with the necessary routes.

Why were they here?

To answer that, one must rewind to yesterday, to the moment Ning Fan received a call from Ouyang Feifei—

“I’m sorry I still haven’t unearthed who’s backing Situ Qingfeng, but there’s something I think you’d definitely care about—it’s about Xu Rongfei!”

Ning Fan remembered every single word Ouyang Feifei said, as clear as if it were yesterday. Not a single word was forgotten!

“Xu Rongfei hasn’t left the country. She was abducted while in a taxi heading to the airport. Reliable sources indicate she is currently in Situ Qingfeng’s hands!”

Upon learning this, Ning Fan simply smiled—a cold, merciless smile. Yet again, someone thought they could use someone connected to him to threaten him. Given the numerous instances of such attempts before, why hadn’t these people learned their lesson? Or had the fury of Asura been forgotten by the world?

After receiving this information from Ouyang Feifei, Ning Fan had no intention of heading home. Instead, he went straight to the Shadow Base and, assuming his identity as Asura, gathered everyone. In his eyes, Situ Qingfeng no longer deserved to exist in this world!

“Go and let them see that in the face of absolute power, all schemes and intrigues are nothing but pathetic attempts at self-consolation!”

With a swing of his hand, Ning Fan commanded Tulip and the others, who leaped down from the high wall in perfect unison.

The four dark shadows vanished into the distance, spreading out in various directions without a trace.

About ten minutes later, as the first body was discovered, the entire Situ Manor erupted into chaos.

By the time they realized what was happening, over twenty bodies had already littered the manor, killed silently under broad daylight!

“Enemy attack! Enemy attack!”

Dong! Dong!—

Someone struck the alarm bell, and countless black-clad men, recruited by Situ Qingfeng, began flooding out from every corner of the manor.

“Hmph, a bunch of small fry. It doesn’t matter how many of you there are!”

Tulip, a Half-step True Origin master, smirked as sunlight bathed her strikingly beautiful features. True to her name, she was a flower, but one laced with deadly poison. Blood served as the best nourishment for her.

Among the group, Tulip was undoubtedly the strongest. As she charged into the crowd, the dance of slaughter—or more accurately, of death—began!

Watching Tulip’s carnage, Di Baitian couldn’t help but mutter, “That woman’s getting stronger… Half-step True Origin… Damn it!”

Di Baitian was not content. Despite being the first recruit of the Shadow Team, his strength was dwarfed by Tulip’s dominance.

Driven by indignation, Di Baitian launched himself into the crowd. To him, this was an opportunity. If he could prove himself here, perhaps more of the Shadow Team’s resources might favor him in the future instead of being overshadowed by a woman!

Meanwhile, the duo known as Wandering Ghosts moved silently through the chaos, extinguishing the lives of reinforcements one by one. They were phantoms on the battlefield, entirely unnoticed—until one realized just how many lives had already fallen to their hands.

“What’s going on?! What in the world is going on?! Who are they?! Someone, stop them! Stop them!”

Situ Qingfeng emerged from the manor, rage blazing in his eyes as he glared at Tulip and the others. The suddenness of the attack left him completely flustered. Seeing the heaps of corpses scattered throughout the manor, Situ Qingfeng was consumed with fury.

“Are they trying to destroy this place?!”

Situ Qingfeng roared, grabbing an old servant by the collar, his bloodshot eyes exuding madness.

“Call for reinforcements! Get those people over here!”

“But…”

“But what?! Can’t you see? These useless idiots are no match for them! Bring those reinforcements here—only they can handle this! Now go, hurry!”

Situ Qingfeng bellowed, spittle flying onto the old servant’s face with every word.

The old servant, upon receiving the order, promptly turned and dashed away!

“Damn it! Who are you?! Who the hell are you?!”

Situ Qingfeng’s expression twisted in anger and despair. He stood atop the grand staircase, looking down at the one-sided massacre below. His face paled as he realized that such overwhelming strength now only belonged to a select few people.

“Situ Qingfeng, it’s been a while. I wonder, did you miss me?”

A voice drifted down from up above. Situ Qingfeng instinctively raised his head, only to see a man sitting leisurely on the rooftop, watching the chaos below as if it were an entertaining show.

When Situ Qingfeng’s gaze fell upon that familiar face, his eyes widened in shock as he cried out, “It’s you, Ning Fan!”

Yes, it was Ning Fan. How could he be here? Were those people brought by him?

But… how was this possible? Could it be… was he exposed?

“Of course, it’s me. Situ Qingfeng, who else other than me would bother paying you a visit? You don’t have any other friends in Zhonghai, do you?”

Ning Fan’s lips curled into a mocking smile, his eyes gleaming with amusement. Situ Qingfeng’s reaction was quite entertaining. Ning Fan had thought this man might have some sliver of awareness, but now, it seemed he was just a fool stuck in his own delusion.

“Why are you doing this? Are you trying to destroy this place?!”

Situ Qingfeng demanded, perhaps still desperately clinging to the hope that his secrets had not yet been exposed. Even now, he had the audacity to adopt the tone of an interrogator with Ning Fan.

Hearing this, Ning Fan burst into laughter: “Hahahaha! Should I call you naive, or just outright stupid? Do I really need to spell it out for you?”

“What did I do? Didn’t you come at me first?!”

Situ Qingfeng continued to deny his actions, his blatant defiance disgusting Ning Fan.

“A real man takes responsibility for his actions. That’s a concept you clearly don’t understand. I must have overestimated you. Do you know how your brother died?”

Ning Fan’s voice turned cold, his eyes filled with disdain. As he casually brought up a topic that sent shivers down Situ Qingfeng’s spine, the latter immediately lost all composure.

Situ Yuanhua—his brother. How exactly had he died? Situ Qingfeng didn’t yet have all the answers, but standing before him now was the very culprit: Ning Fan!

“So it seems you’ve figured it out. Look at you—you can’t even pretend properly. Thinking about revenge? I think you’d be better off joining your brother in the afterlife!”
