Chapter 1392: Chapter 1393: Look at your face, it’s like a New Year painting (5)
It was obvious that Nan Tian’s threat had worked. Everyone in the Nan Family remembered An Yiqing’s face, and in the future, they’d all avoid her.
Nan Tian didn’t expect her veiled threat to be so easily deciphered by An Yiqing. She awkwardly touched her nose and gave An Yiqing a begrudging glare.
"Why are you so smart? Let me tell you, those who know too much often die young!"
An Yiqing nodded with a smile, "Well, I don’t know anything. Don’t slander me."
Nan Tian stiffened her neck and gave An Yiqing another fierce glare.
"Don’t be angry. Look at your little face, all puffed up. You’re almost turning into a frog. Come on, let’s go have a drink." An Yiqing gently patted Nan Tian’s shoulder and led her downstairs.
"Hey, where are you taking me? Girl, stop! I’m still wearing slippers!"
An Yiqing stopped in her tracks, looked down at the pink slippers on Nan Tian’s feet, and showed a face full of disdain. She dragged Nan Tian back to the room without a word, personally picked out a pair of acceptable shoes, and forced Nan Tian to wear them.
"Damn, these shoes are so girly, how can I wear them out? Are you repaying kindness with enmity, girl? I’m your lifesaver!"
Nan Tian glared with her large panda eyes, trying to look fierce, but An Yiqing smacked her on the back of the head.
"With your taste, you can wear pink slippers out. What’s wrong with these shoes? I’ll give you ten minutes to wash off that painting on your face. Aren’t you afraid of scaring others in broad daylight? Hurry up, wash it off and I’ll take you to eat something delicious!"
Nan Tian initially had a thousand unwillingnesses in her heart, stubbornly refusing to wash her face as An Yiqing said. But as soon as she heard about delicious food, her eyes lit up, and she dashed away.
An Yiqing watched Nan Tian’s quickly disappearing figure helplessly, shaking her head with a smile. Why are all her friends foodies? Is it possible her magnetic field is the problem?
Ten minutes later, An Yiqing left the Nan Family Main Residence with the bare-faced Nan Tian. Along the way, the Nan Family’s servants were surprised to see Nan Tian, seemingly astonished that anyone other than Old Master Nanfeng could make her remove her thick makeup.
"Your face looks much more pleasing now. Don’t say I didn’t warn you, wearing heavy makeup often can make your skin sag and cause pigmentation. You’re still young; you don’t want to become an old lady, do you?"
Nan Tian pouted unhappily, her expression looking impatient, but her hands couldn’t help but touch the corner of her eyes.
An Yiqing noticed this little gesture from Nan Tian and couldn’t help but smile. It seemed that whether fierce or gentle, there’s no woman in this world who doesn’t like beauty.
"Where are you taking me, girl?" Nan Tian asked.
"Why ask so much? As long as it’s delicious, right?"
An Yiqing shoved Nan Tian into the car, then took the driver’s seat, and they quickly left the Nan Family Main Residence.
In a secluded alley in Jinyin City, an unremarkable noodle shop quietly stood.
"You said you’re taking me to eat something delicious, and it’s this rundown noodle shop?" Nan Tian, trembling, pointed to the almost moldy sign above, asking in disbelief.
"What’s wrong with a rundown noodle shop? Who says it can’t make delicious food? Go inside quickly, don’t dawdle. How could the place I choose be bad?"
Pushed by An Yiqing, Nan Tian reluctantly walked into the noodle shop.
The shop’s decor was very simple, with a few wooden long tables that couldn’t be plainer and several plastic stools. The old ceiling fan struggled to rotate, releasing its last bit of coolness. At the back of the noodle shop, a small, old desk was placed there. On the desk, there were three handwritten menus, with messy writing that Nan Tian had to strain to recognize.
"Got customers? Oh, it’s you, little girl!"
