Capítulo 1769: Chapter 1769: Fainted (2)
Wei Bingcen either didn’t react in time or didn’t dare move, standing there and allowing the teacup to smash directly onto his head. There was a loud bang, followed by a crack, as the teacup hit the ground and shattered into pieces, and his head immediately began to bleed.
Wei Bingcen swayed slightly, then his eyes rolled back, and he fell to the ground with a clatter, crashing into a chair next to him.
Wei Bingyi was taken aback and suddenly remembered that this half-brother had been prone to fainting at the sight of blood since childhood. Despite his own anger and frustration, he felt it was inappropriate to lash out further, and he couldn’t just let his brother lie there, as anything serious might lead to trouble for himself. He promptly called for someone to come in.
In the backyard, Wei Zhangshi was chatting with Wei Yao and Wei Jun, keeping the grandparents company. Of course, the eldest sister-in-law, Qiong Family, and her son Wei Jie were also present.
Though the old lady of the Wei family didn’t like Wei Bingyi, over the years, this concubine’s son hadn’t caused any trouble. Moreover, there were only three grandsons in the family, including the only granddaughter Wei Yao, whom the elder genuinely adored, at least not giving her a hard time. And Wei Yao was indeed endearing and obedient, thus the atmosphere in the room was quite good.
At this moment, a servant ran in to report that the second master had fainted.
Upon hearing this, Wei Zhangshi instantly stood up.
“What happened?” The old master of the Wei family stood up.
“I’m not sure, sir. Just now, the eldest master called someone in, and they saw the second master lying on the ground…” the servant reported truthfully.
“That second one must be acting stubborn again, huh?” The old madam spoke first, attempting to cover for her own son.
The hearts of Wei Zhangshi’s family of three turned cold.
The old master of the Wei family, however, got up and walked outside.
The old madam rolled her eyes at the old master, thinking to herself: At this age, do you still feel sorry for that wretch’s child? Yet, she hurried to follow him out.
Although Wei Zhangshi worried about her husband, she dared not overtake the grandparents and could only anxiously follow behind.
Qiong Family smirked inwardly, thinking: Fainted, did he? Why didn’t he just die? Of course, on the surface, she couldn’t show it and displayed a look of concern, even comforted Wei Zhangshi: “Don’t worry, sister-in-law. The doctor is already there, it should be fine.”
“Thank you, sister-in-law.” Wei Zhangshi nodded in gratitude, though her eyes were red.
They quickly arrived at the courtyard where Wei Bingyi and his wife resided. The doctor was already treating him. The wound wasn’t deep, and the fainting due to blood wasn’t serious. He would wake up shortly, but he would need to take two doses of medicine to calm his nerves.
Everyone breathed a sigh of relief.
Qiong Family promptly instructed someone to escort the doctor out and followed to get the prescription filled.
The old master of the Wei family frowned as he looked at the wound on Wei Bingcen’s forehead, then turned his gaze to Wei Bingyi.
Wei Bingyi felt annoyed but, in front of so many people, couldn’t say anything.
“As long as he’s fine.” The old madam cast a glance at the concubine’s son on the bed, twisted her mouth, “When he wakes up, have the kitchen prepare something nourishing for him…” then turned and left.
Qiong Family didn’t linger either and swiftly exited.
“Take good care of him.” The old master gave Wei Zhangshi a look, then left as well.
Wei Bingyi quickly followed them out.
“Brother Chen.” Once the room was left with just them, Wei Zhangshi went over to hold Wei Bingcen’s hand.
“Big brother was too harsh.” Wei Yao said indignantly.
