Chapter 320: Encapsulated
The illusions created through the combined effort of Professor Regina and the principal from the background brought the whole story to life, making every student feel as if they were right there. Witnessing all those majestic historic events of this world with their very own eyes wide open.
Axel was sure that the illusions probably failed to show the accurate scale of the earth-shattering battles in their full glory, but it was still mesmerizing to see.
He had no words to describe it; the magic applications for such immersive illusions weren’t the interesting part here. But it was the history of this world itself and its significance. The countless events and the rich history of this magical world all felt truly fascinating. The life-like immersive illusions naturally helped in the process of making history feel so interesting. Specifically, the two historic battles, the fight against the dragon king and the fight against the 7th phase demon emperor, were truly eye-opening.
Axel could almost feel it in his bones: a genuine 7th phase powerhouse from this Eldarion continent could probably destroy a planet the size of the Earth. Assuming there is no world Will protecting it. But since the world Will of the Eldarion continent was just too powerful. Even what a 7th phase powerhouse could express was significantly limited.
Axel made some mental calculations to put it into a more understandable perspective, which was that -
According to what is known, the Eldarion continent was approximately 2500 million km² or 2.5 billion km². Earth’s total land area was 148.9 million square kilometers, which was 29% of the total surface area of the Earth.
Assuming the Eldarion continent also covers 29% of this total planet’s surface area. The surface area of this planet would be roughly 17 times bigger than Earth’s. The radius of this planet would be 4.1 times greater than Earth’s planetary radius. Gravity would also be 4.1 times greater than on Earth.
And if you factor in the subject that the world Will suppress you more and more as you grow stronger, so as not to break the ecosystem. The gravity and pressure imposed on you continue to compound in a similar manner. So, one could only imagine how much stronger even a normal human being of this planet was compared to a human living on Earth. Axel could not help but shudder at the thought of the true power unleashed by a 7th phase powerhouse without the suppression of the world Will.
But this again begged the question of how Sophia was so strong. Axel knew even before becoming a Seeker that she was far from any normal human. It would have made sense if a human from this world were summoned to earth, but in this case, it was the opposite. It didn’t make sense. Axel sighed deeply in exasperation, apart from that fact. He reviewed the historical information stated by the professor and grimaced internally at some of the utterly false facts.
The key historical events were indeed true canonically, but some of the smaller pieces of information were utter bulshit, and he took it all with a pinch of salt. Since most of this information had come from the Suncrest royal family, they overglorified many things while hiding many of the other facts.
For example, the Suncrest surname came from the surname of the valkyries, which was Evercrest, not the other way around. All three of the current great kingdoms’ royal families were vassals of the royal family that ruled over all humanity during that time. All three of the vassal families betrayed the royal family through countless years of careful planning. The leader of the Suncrests, being the closest to the king, backstabbed him and stole the summoning ritual for himself.
From what Axel knew, it was also that very ancestor of the Suncrests who made modifications to the summoning ritual of the valkyrie for it to have the function of obeying commands of the summoner, assuming there is enough gap in strength.
Axel looked around him, and everyone was still completely mesmerized by the illusions. They looked like little kids who had eaten ice cream for the very first time in their lives. That made him chuckle slightly. He looked around again, his sight and senses now covering a much wider area. Axel hummed thoughtfully,
’Conner isn’t here. Similar to most of the 100 students from the minor kingdoms who were abducted....no, taken away
would be a better word to use here. Thorian, Jaden, and Enrick are all here. Lucien or Sophia is nowhere to be seen.’Well, it would make sense for Lucien not to show his face after that one-sided stomping from Sophia. His eyes landed on Lumina again. Sophia was probably giving him some space to explain things clearly to Lumina. She naturally knew that Lumina had a massive crush on him. Or maybe the feeling she had for him developed even further silently. Regardless of how she felt, he would have to explain everything to her.
But looking at her innocent face, he didn’t know how to say it. It wasn’t that he was getting sentimental or starting to have a soft spot for Lumina. It’s just that, in this cruel world, everyone has their own dark secrets and agendas. Even Heinz and Sophia, the two people he trusted most, could turn gray at any given moment.
Lumina was the single most innocent being in this entire world. There was no one more holy than her. And the thing that was inside of her was the very proof of it. Sometimes he even doubted if she was truly the sister of that trash bastard and was from that family of backstabbers. How could he explain the complete truth to her without breaking her heart? Even though he could be ruthless to even an innocent person if necessary, he wasn’t completely heartless in this matter. At least, nowhere near as cruel as Sophia.
And this fact went much deeper than him simply trying not to hurt her feelings; he needed her to be unblemished and pure. Otherwise, he could not achieve the outcome he wanted, the outcome he needed.
The voice of Professor Regina sounded again as the illusions started to break down, the immersive pictures and scenarios disappearing one by one into glittering fragments of light.
"And this is the significance and history associated with the purple moon, or you can also call it the purple eclipse. For humanity, it marked the beginning of our downfall, yet also a moment of relief, as both the Dragon King and the newly risen Demon Emperor fell. Especially, the demon Emperor, since there is practically no way for a summoned valkyrie to deal with such a powerful being."
"The fact that you can even learn this history of the distant past in itself is a privilege. A privilege that you have undoubtedly earned."
"So, just enjoy my dear students, because you will not get too many chances to enjoy the simple things in your entire life, especially as a Seeker. The path to power is only filled with bloodshed, pain, suffering, and hopelessness. So, forget everything for once and just enjoy this life."
The moment she finished her sentence, all the fragments of light and the lingering illusions disappeared at once. The darkened black sky began to illuminate, not from artificial lights or magic, but from the natural light of the world, which the spatial dome had been blocking until now, thanks to the principal’s intervention.
And what appeared in everyone’s vision took their breath away. Even Axel himself felt awestruck by the sight of it. Seeing the scenery with his very own eyes, he realized the true scope of the sky’s magnificence could never be captured by an illusion.
There were two sides; on one side were the three smaller white moons, but they were only small if compared to the ginormous purple moon on the other side of the sky. And that purple moon was beautiful. Absolutely beautiful. He could not help but be utterly encapsulated by the ominous light of that gargantuan purple moon, which almost seemed too close. His eyes became blurry for a moment and ...
